Thank you for your interest in the Intern/Residency Program at First Nazarene Church! We are excited about the possibility of what God might have in store for you in the weeks and months to come as you prayerfully explore how God might be planning to use you in ministry.

Mission Statement

The purpose of the Intern Project is to utilize the experience, resources, and culture available through First Nazarene to equip and educate those who are pursuing ministry as a career at the undergraduate and graduate level by allowing them to observe alongside our staff and volunteers, assist in executing ministry programming, and receive training in a variety of ways including discussion-based curriculum focused on specific books as well as through real-world experience.

GOALS

01

To engage students in ministry preparation by:

  • Giving real responsibilities
  • Practical in-person training moments
  • Observing, partnering to create, and then executing ministry programing with the team and independently

02

To reach into our community more effectively.

  • Adding a variety of interns to reach a variety of people
  • Partnering with our current volunteers who are already connected to the community to help foster connectional relationships
  • Creating new connection points through intentional interactions with Recreation families, Preschool families, and families who visit the church

03

To increase the collective quality of ministry in the church-at-large by:

  • Raising the standard by example
  • Empowering interns to serve
  • Increasing the number of creative, excited, and passionately called ministers of the gospel

04

To decrease the percentage of ministers leaving the ministry because of a lack of preparation, too few mentors to consult, or burning out too soon.
